So my clutch has gone. At least I was home when it went. If it's in gear with the clutch pushed all the way in when I start it, it lunges like it's a loose cable. So I bought a Steeda adjustable cable, quadrant, and I already had a firewall adjuster. I put it all together, crossed my fingers, and it still lunged. So it's my clutch according to Paul and Jason. So the question is which one? Paul recommends a RAM HD, and h8imports suggested a Spec stage II. I had a McLeod stage III, that I really liked. I'm just unsure what to get. I don't want a super heavy pedal but I'm at 301rwhp and I plan on adding more and don't want slipping. Also since we're in there I'm upgrading to an aluminum flywheel, any suggestions there too?

Mike, ask Racin Jason; He has experience with the SN95 and can give some good input too.

By the way, sorry the clutch let go.
Racin Jason
Hey Mike, it's really personal preference I think. There are a lot of good clutches out there, but if I were in your shoes I would probably go with a Spec clutch. I think there are some out there just as good if not better but you are looking for a compromise of good pedal feel and easily holding your HP level. I think the Spec would suit you well, but that's my 2 cents! biggrin.gif

As far as the flywheel Spec offers those too, they might cut you a deal on both as a package. Fidanza also makes a great flywheel and both companies usually sell the aluminum ones around $350, but search a little bit and you can usually find them a little cheaper. Best of luck in getting everything back together!

Go with SPEC. Ask for Paul Amick if you call them. Tell him I told you to call and to give you a discount.

Sorry you had a bad experience with them. I've only had good luck with them. Whao did you deal with? That might be the reason. I deal with David Norton.

I would ask for David Norton. He always givin me better prices than Paul. I would just call 2 different times and ask Paul and David and see who gives you better prices. Or I will call if you need me too. If you call them tell them you are with the magic city mustangs.

Like I said before I would go with a stage II. If you are just wanting a clutch for all motor you could go with a stage one. My 88 had a stage one and it had a Bennett 306, head, cam, intake with 175 shot and it would pull the front ties and slicks. I'm not going to say your stage one would do that but mine did. I know they are not rated for that kind of power but my helt it good. Lasted through 2 transmissions. Then I went to a C4. Which was a mistake. (thats another story{wrong converter})

Well I finally got my car fixed. Somehow the friction plate stuck to the flywheel. I wasn't even racing it when it went. I'm slowly finding that the guy I bought the car from from really took care of some things and neglected others. Now Jason tells me the trac lock will need to be done soon. Only problem is SVPU doesn't do IRS differentials. Something about a $500 spreader tool used only on IRS's. C'mon everybody has a $500 spreader laugh.gif tongue.gif . SVPU always does a great job so I hate to take it to someone I don't know. Anyone have any ideas other than the dealer?

I wonder if that's something Falkner's in Pelham could do? I had him work on the air in my truck a while back and he is a top notch guy! Heck, it's worth going there just to see his Mustangs!
