G'day
Our Club held its 28th Annual show last Sunday with around 600 Classic and Musclecars attending.Held on the rooftop of a large shopping mall carpark. 1000's of people viewed the cars.Every year it just get bigger .We had around 200 mustangs there including concours cars,Shelbys ,Boss's and even a 2008 Shelby.
The photos of some of the stangs are on our website in the New South Wales branch January 17th All American Day.
We even had a bloke arrive escorting a group of mustangs in a convoy dressed as a California Highway Patrol Officer on a new Harley.I believe one of our bike cops going the other way got a shock when he passed him .
Also there was Missisippi Sheriff's patrol car with all the bells and sirens.fully restored and beautiful.Along with some T and A models and heaps of hot rods and a couple of mustang drag cars.
Only trouble with the show it is always stinking hot on the concrete rooftop and with the wives heading for the aircon in the shops it often becomes a shopping trip
Have a look at the photos on www.mustang.org.au Lot of money raised for the Sydney Childrens Hospital.

Sounds like a great turnout Norm! Heck, I like going to shows where the wives can shop because it appeases them more than a show with nothing for them to do but sit around. She has more fun I think when she can do her own thing. laugh.gif

I checked out your show pics. blink.gif Those are some great cars! I never new Australia had such a great collection of Mustangs. The 01 Cobra with the four fog lights was just weired. I saw a lot of different stangs including Saleen and Shelby, but I did not see any 03/04 Cobras. Do they not have as many over there?

It looks like your club is very active. Great Job.

I might have to move that way someday. Beautiful weather and Mustangs. laugh.gif

Quite a few 01/02 but then seems to be a few years when not many came over.Unfortunately the cost of conversion to RHD,around $35000.plus import tax new stangs cost from around $90000 upwards. If you looked through the photos 2 of my cars are there .silver blue 65 F/b on 1st page .Red 65 convert on the 2nd page. Both have HOT 65 plates

Does it have to be converted to right hand drive? I know it would be easier but just wondering if it was a neccessity if you just know which side to drive on.

Any car over 30 years old does not have to be converted. The now pre 1980 cars can cost from $5k to $10k
to be done.I've had all mine done as the bride wouldn't get in them otherwise. Besides it's scary sitting on the RHS with nothing to hang onto. Especially behind a big rig.
There were a few people doing the later model cars but the Govt brought in new regs [as usual]so now there are only a couple that do it and can complience them.
All cars have to engineered certified.
